SUN DANCE
As I sit and I listen to
The sounds of the drum
The chants and the prayers
I begin to hum.
As the singers sing
And the dancers dance.
Into the past I begin
To glance
The dancers of old, around
The tree they go.
The songs and the words
They've been taught, and they know.
They know of the laws of
The Father and Love
They know of the power
From within and above
They dance for the people
And sweet Mother Earth.
They sing for the Father
And their spiritual birth.
And as I watch in awe
At the things that I see
I give praise to the Father
For creating me.
And one day may I share
In this dance of the sun
Giving thanks to the Father
For all that he's done.
